It’s big, it’s powerful, it’s overkill and we love it. If space is not a limiting factor in your car camping setup this 2x 30,000 BTU stove is one of the best camp kitchen values on the market. We affectionately call ours “Big Greasy”. For SUV owners we would recommend the Camp Chef Mountaineer 2 Burner or the Everest 2 Burner.

Portable refrigerators may be a big investment but they are game changers for multi-day trips. After a lot of research we purchased the Dometic CFX3 55IM based on build quality and efficiency reviews. Since then it has gone on to win Overland Journal’s Editor’s Choice award for best portable refrigerator. We’ve had ours for two years and use it for everything from two week trips to grocery runs on hot days.
